For nurses who stopped eating at work to avoid it

You should not have to
undo your pants in the car.

Shift Gut: The Night Shift De-Bloat ProtocolThree shifts, one variable each, and a short list of what to suspect. Most nurses feel the difference in their scrubs inside a week (results vary).

You have gotten good at hiding it. The scrub top pulled down, the arms folded at handover, the deep breath before someone hugs you. Three shifts from now you could know what is actually doing it.

Tell me if this is you

  • You have a shift waistband and a real-life waistband, and they are different sizes.
  • Somebody asked when you were due, and you have not stopped thinking about it.
  • You have started skipping food on shift entirely, because empty hurts less than full.
  • You cut dairy for a month. Then gluten. Then coffee. You are not sure any of it did anything.
  • You have googled this at 3am, in a supply closet, on your own break.
  • You take care of bodies for twelve hours and you cannot work out what is happening in your own.

None of that is you being dramatic and none of it is in your head. You are asking a digestive system to work while you stand for twelve hours, hold every bathroom trip, run on adrenaline, and eat at 3am. It is doing exactly what it was built to do under those conditions. The problem was never your willpower around food.

Why nothing has worked

You have been changing four things at once

Every food diary you have kept had the same hole in it. You cut dairy and gluten and caffeine in the same week, felt slightly better, and had no idea which one did it. Or felt nothing and quietly concluded this is how your body is now.

There is a second hole nobody mentions. If your stomach is worse on shifts and better on days off, that could be the food, or it could be twelve hours of standing, the bathroom trips you did not take, the adrenaline, and eating at 3am. A food diary physically cannot tell those two apart.

So you were never failing at it. You were handed a method that cannot answer the question, and then you blamed yourself when it did not.

Once you know what it is

What actually changes

Picture your next Thursday. Hour nine, the hour you normally start counting down, and your waistband is sitting where it did at the start of the shift. You are not doing the maths on whether you can make it to the car. Somebody suggests going out after and your first thought is not what will that do to me.

You are not thinking about your stomach at all. That is the whole thing. Not a flat one, not a before and after photo. A normal shift where your body is not the loudest thing in the room.

And you know why. You have a name for it, written down, tested on your own body across your own shifts. You are not guessing any more, and you are not cutting out food groups on a hunch. You know.

In their own words

From nurses I have coached

Hanna

BeforeWoke up every morning with a swollen face and fingers so puffy she couldn't wear her wedding ring. Thought it was "getting older."

AfterRing fits. Face is defined. Her husband keeps asking what she's doing differently.

I haven't felt this good in years

I have a button up shirt that I haven't been able to wear since nursing school. I put it on the other day and it buttoned. I may not be able to see the progress but my wardrobe definitely does.

Free, in full, before you pay

Read this first. It might mean you should not buy this.

This is the actual first page of the product, word for word. The only line left off is the one that points you to the appointment card inside the file. It is first inside the file too, and it is on this page for free because if any of it is true for you, your forty seven dollars belongs with a clinician and not with me.

Page one of the product

Some of this is not a shift problem

If any of these are true for you, close this and get an appointment. Not because I am being careful, but because a log cannot find something that needs a person and a scope, and running a three shift test instead of getting seen costs you time you should not spend.

  • Blood in your stool, or black tarry stools
  • Weight coming off that you did not set out to lose
  • Pain that wakes you out of sleep
  • New bloating that does not settle, with feeling full very early, if you are over 40
  • Vomiting that keeps coming back, or trouble swallowing
  • Fever with the abdominal pain
  • A close family history of bowel or ovarian cancer, celiac disease, or inflammatory bowel disease
  • A history of disordered eating that food logging or scoring tends to reawaken. This tool asks you to score food and test it, and if that is a door better left closed, closing this page instead is the right call, not a failure

Any one of those and this is an appointment, not a program.

That page is why the rest of this is worth trusting. Everything else sold for this problem starts by telling you what to cut out. This starts by telling you when the answer is not food at all.

What you get

Five pieces, and you can see all five from here

The 3-Shift TestOne variable per shift, one thirty second score at hour nine on a card that lives in your badge holder. No elimination diet, no food diary, no cooking, nothing to buy. Every "I cannot do that on my unit" has a named second best with the honest tradeoff.
$49
The Break Room Gas GridForty two things that genuinely appear in a break room, a vending machine or a cafeteria, scored on the three things that matter, each with a swap available in the same room.
$29
The Night Shift Timing CardWhen to eat across a twelve so your gut is not doing the heaviest work at 4am, mapped to your own clock-in time. The one variable no other product tests.
$19
The Ten-Minute Appointment CardWhat to bring and what to report, with your own dated log printed out. You get about ten minutes. This skips the part where you spend six of them explaining.
$15
The Days Off ControlRun the same suspected item on a day off and score it. Without this, three shifts of data genuinely cannot tell the food apart from the shift.
$15
All five$127

The label rule is the part that outlasts everything else. Three things to check on any packet, in about ten seconds, and you can place any item in any break room for the rest of your career. The list is not updated and does not need to be, because the rule is the product.

Interactive tool plus printable cards Works on your phone at hour nine No coaching included No calls, no replies, no community
All sales are final, and this is not about protecting me. This is a test you run on yourself, and the whole value is the answer you have on shift three. Once you have it, you have it, so a refund window would be theatre. What I have done instead is put the page that might disqualify you at the top of this page, for free, in full. If any of those eight things are true for you, do not buy this. Go and get seen. I would rather lose the forty seven dollars than have you spend it on a log when you needed an appointment.

Do not buy this if

  • Any of the eight red flags above are true. That is an appointment. Please go.
  • You want a meal plan. This is not one. It does not tell you what to eat, it helps you work out what to stop guessing about.
  • You want a diagnosis. It cannot give you one and it never says it has. Every output says suspected.
  • You are not working shifts right now. The whole test is built on scoring at the same hour of the same kind of shift. Without that it does not work.

Not sure which of your problems to fix first? Take the free two minute one instead. It asks three questions and it is willing to tell you the answer is not on this shelf yet.

Before you ask

The questions I would have

Will this tell me what my trigger is?

It gives you what to suspect first, dated and scored, and what to test next. Three shifts is not enough for certainty and I am not going to pretend otherwise. It is a great deal more than you have now.

Do I have to cut anything out?

No. There is no elimination diet in here. You change one thing per shift, and two of the three changes are about timing rather than food at all.

What if all three shifts score the same?

That is a real result and the tool says so plainly. It means it is probably not any single food, it is the shift itself, and it sends you to the timing card instead of an elimination diet you do not need.

Can I message you about my symptoms?

No, and I want to be straight about that rather than leave you waiting. No coaching, no calls, no replies. Your symptoms are a conversation with your own physician. That is what makes this forty seven dollars instead of several hundred.

Is there a refund?

No. All sales are final, which is exactly why the disqualifying page is printed in full at the top of this page for free.

What if my phone wipes it?

Your log lives in the page link and in a short code you can screenshot. Bookmark it and it comes back. Safari clears storage after about a week away and this was built around that.

The version of you on the other side of this

She is not a different person. She has not overhauled her life, given up bread, or started meal prepping on Sundays. She works the same roster on the same unit with the same eleven minute breaks.

The only thing that changed is that she stopped guessing. She knows which one thing to leave alone on a shift, she has a card in her badge holder that tells her what to grab at 3am, and she is not carrying the low background dread of a body doing something she cannot explain.

She eats at work again. She says yes to the thing after. She stopped calculating.

The knowing is three shifts away. Not three months, not a whole new life. Three shifts, one change each, and a score that takes thirty seconds at the hour you already dread. Everything else she got followed from having an answer instead of a hunch, and how fast it follows is different for every body.

And if the red flag page at the top of this page described you, then the version of you on the other side of this is the one who went and got seen, and I would genuinely rather you be her.
